11 times table

The 11 times table is what you get when you skip-count by 11s: 11, 22, 33, 44, 55, 66, 77, 88, 99, 110, 121, 132. The first nine answers repeat the digit you multiply by.

What we worked out for the 11s

  • Facts still to learn: if a child already knows the tables below 11, the 11 times table up to 11 × 12 has only 2 new facts: 11 × 11 and 11 × 12. The rest are facts from the earlier tables in reverse order (11 × 2 is 2 × 11).
  • England's multiplication tables check: the 25-question test in Year 4 has 1 to 3 questions from the 11 times table. The five tables the framework rates hardest (6, 7, 8, 9 and 12) get 2 to 4 each.
  • A one-page sheet: the table above prints on one page of US Letter or A4. Choose a complete table, a version with the answers left blank in order, or a shuffled version with its own answer key. You can also add the division facts.

On September 25, 2026, the top five Google results for "11 times table" (US) were Timestables.com, DoodleLearning, Smartick, Math Salamanders and BBC Bitesize. We read all five. They list the table and give tips, and some add games or printable charts. None says how many questions in England's check come from the 11s, and none counts the facts still left to learn.

Patterns in the 11 times table

  • From 11 × 1 to 11 × 9 the answer is the digit written twice: 11 × 4 = 44, 11 × 9 = 99.
  • The repeat stops at 11 × 10 = 110. After that, 11 × 11 = 121 and 11 × 12 = 132.
  • To multiply 11 by a two-digit number whose digits add up to 9 or less, write the sum of the digits between them: for 11 × 12, 1 + 2 = 3, so the answer is 132.

Row 11 and column 11 hold the same answers: 11 × 7 and 7 × 11 are both 77. You can print the multiplication chart with the 11s shaded.

A memory trick: multiply by 10, then add the number

To multiply a number by 11, multiply it by 10 and add the number. 11 × 12 = 120 + 12 = 132. 11 × 11 = 110 + 11 = 121.

Mix-ups to watch for

These wrong answers are easy to give because each one is a real answer from a nearby fact, or looks like one.

  • 11 × 12 = 122? No. The slip: writing 12 and then another 2, as if the repeat pattern of 11 × 1 to 11 × 9 still worked. Check: 120 + 12 = 132.
  • 11 × 10 = 1,010? No. The slip: writing the 10 twice, as with 44 or 77. Check: 11 tens is 110.

The 11 times table and division

The first nine products are easy to divide by 11: 77 ÷ 11 = 7 and 99 ÷ 11 = 9. For 121 and 132, split off 110 (ten 11s): 121 is 110 + 11, so 121 ÷ 11 = 11; 132 is 110 + 22, so 132 ÷ 11 = 12.

A multiplication fact with two different numbers gives two division facts: because 11 × 7 = 77, 77 ÷ 11 = 7 and 77 ÷ 7 = 11. Here are the twelve division facts for dividing by 11:

When children learn the 11s

  • United States: Common Core 3.OA.C.7 asks Grade 3 children to "know from memory all products of two one-digit numbers", so the 11s go beyond the standard, though many classrooms still teach them with a 12 × 12 chart.
  • England: the 11s belong to Year 4, when the national curriculum says pupils should "recall multiplication and division facts for multiplication tables up to 12 × 12".
  • The multiplication tables check (Year 4, June) counts a question as part of the table named first: "the first number in the question will denote the multiplication table the question is part of, for example, 4 × 12 would be considered part of the 4 multiplication table."
